| Welcome to New York City Pictures - Downtown - Financial District |
View from Battery Park The southern most point of the island of Manhattan is known as the financial district.
| |
View from Battery Park Modern buildings tower over the older structures that are deep in history.
| |
Above Broad Street A noticeable trait of the financial district is the small shadowy streets that run between the sunlit structures.
| |
World Trade Center Two structures that used to be seen almost anywhere downtown were the twin towers of the World Financial Center.
| |
Bowling Green At the end of Broadway sits Bowling Green.
| |

Wall Street Bull The great anatomically correct bull that symbolizes the irrational exuberance in the air.
| |
New York Stock Exchange Slightly North East of the bull sits the New York Stock Exchange that was under a little exterior remodeling when I took this picture. Hang out here and smoke a few butts with the traders on the sidewalk.
| |
New York Stock Exchange The renovations yielded a crisp white façade that is the stage for many events in front of the exchange.
| |
New York Stock Exchange Main Entrance The main entrance to the New York Stock Exchange that no one uses.
| |

| |
Federal Hall National Memorial The Federal Hall National Memorial sits on the location of the former Federal Hall of the United States of America. At this location George Washington was sworn in as the first president and where the first Congress met. The current structure replaced the old one in 1812.
| |
J.P. Morgan The J.P. Morgan building on the corner of Wall and Broad Street. Construction of a short structure in one of the most expensive real estate locations is a testament to the wealth of J.P. Morgan & Co in the early 1910's.
| |
